Parliamentary Integrity Committee Wants to Interrogate Corrupt Members of Government
Iraq - Thursday, April 16, 2009
The chairman of the Integrity Committee in the Iraqi parliament asked the prime minister to replace some cabinet ministers who exhibited poor performance. He added that the Integrity committee intends to interrogate some ministers in the next legislative session with regard to administrative and financial corruption, including the ministers of trade, transport and defence. Iraqi constitution and parliament by-laws allow 25 parliament members to interrogate any minister and withdraw confidence in him/her if his/her replies were not convincing.
