Not Assigned - Tuesday, January 1, 2013
Corruption in defense engenders numerous inefficiencies and dangers to society at large, and constitutes a highly charged and sensitive topic. Transparency International (TI) launched the first global analysis of this issue “The Government Defense Anti-Corruption Index” in January 2013. It analyzes the corruption risks and vulnerabilities in 82 countries, representing 94% of military spending in 2011 in the areas of political, financial, personnel, operations and procurement risk. The index places each country in a band from A (very low level of corruption risks) to F (critical level of corruption risks).
