Central Workshop on "Promoting Integrity for Development with Youth Participation" in Djerba, Tunisia
Djerba, Tunisia,
4/13/2024 - 4/14/2024
Organized by: UNDP
Youth aged 15 to 29 make up more than 29 percent of the population of Tunisia and possess immense creative energy and potential across all levels. However, corruption poses a significant obstacle to their ambitions and negatively affects their lives as it weakens the public services they need, such as health and education, undermines their sense of security and justice, and limits their ability to innovate, compete, and find job opportunities.
Therefore, young people have a direct interest in building a culture of integrity and supporting efforts to prevent and combat corruption. They also have the ability to play influential roles in this regard, complementing the efforts of state institutions and components of society. Hence, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invited youth to participate in a specialized workshop aimed at deepening knowledge of relevant fundamental concepts and developing capacities through which a clear and positive role for youth in promoting integrity can be shaped to achieve economic and social development on the 13th and 14th of April in Djerba, Tunisia.
