Workshop on the "Implementation of Preventive Measures of the United Nations Convention against Corruption" in Tunisia

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a national workshop on "Implementation of Preventive Measures of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC)" in Tunisia on 31 October and 1 November 2023, within the framework of UNDP’s regional project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries (ACIAC), which is implemented in partnership with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This workshop was held for the government experts' team established through a decision by the Tunisian government with the aim of conducting the self-assessment report on implementation of the convention.
The workshop focused on reviewing and deepening the outcomes of the self-assessment of Tunisia’s implementation of Chapter II of the convention concerning preventive measures. It also entailed examining comparative experiences in implementing the Chapter V related to asset recovery and the progress made by the team in this context. Furthermore, the workshop tackled prospects for cooperation to continue in the relevant path by benchmarking against international best practices and exploring opportunities to involve the community, particularly the youth.
This workshop builds upon the outcomes of the workshop on "Reviewing the Implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption" held on 7 March 2022 and the specialized training session on "Reviewing the Implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption (Chapters II and V)" held between 23-25 January 2023.
