Training of Trainers "Integrity and Anti-Corruption Education for Youth in the Arab Region"

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a pilot Training of Trainers (TOT) in Amman, Jordan, from 19 to 22 June 2023 within the framework of UNDP’s regional project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries (ACIAC), which is implemented in partnership with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This is part of ACIAC’s regional effort to support academies and centers specialized in anti-corruption training and education across the region; and to foster cooperation among them towards setting up a virtual center of excellence by the end of 2024 under the umbrella of the Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network (ACINET). The virtual center of excellence would enable, among other things, online access to these academies and centers and broaden the dissemination of related knowledge and capacity development activities to stakeholders and different beneficiary groups in the Arab States region, including policymakers, practitioners, and members of the general public, including dedicated training to specific groups such as children, women, entrepreneurs, etc.

This specific pilot TOT is designed for anti-corruption agency personnel, starting with JIACC as a potential regional leader in this regard, to develop skills needed to facilitate future anti-corruption and integrity workshops for students in secondary school. This pilot TOT builds on the outcome of the regional meeting held in the framework of the 9th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) that was held in Sharm-El Sheikh, Egypt, on 16 December 2021, regarding the facilitation of regional cooperation on anti-corruption and integrity training to strengthen the capacity of State Parties to implement the UNCAC.
