National workshop "Review Mechanism of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption" in Tunisia

Tunis, Republic of Tunisia, 3/7/2022 - 3/7/2022

Organized by: UNDP-ACIAC in cooperation with Tunisia's Directorate General on Governance and Corruption Prevention.

As part of its Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in Arab Countries (ACIAC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a national workshop “Review Mechanism of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption” in Tunis on 7 March 2022, in cooperation with the General Audit of Public Services at the Prime Minister’s Office, since the head of the said entity is the national focal point vis-à-vis the review mechanism. This activity follows the selection of the Republic of Tunisia to undergo its review this year with focus on Chapter II on Preventive measures and Chapter V on Asset Recovery.

The workshop was attended by representatives of relevant institutions to the two chapters being reviewed which enabled deepening their knowledge of the requirements for implementing Chapters II and V and related review methodologies. This will support the Republic of Tunisia fulfill its international obligations and develop recommendations and conclusions to support reforms related to preventing and combating corruption in the country.
