Regional Training on “Legal Instruments for Corruption Prevention”

Organized by: UNDP- ACIAC, in partnership with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)

The training covered two legal instruments for preventing corruption, namely (1) making information available and accessing it, and (2) assets and interests declaration and ways to deal with them. The trainees were enabled to deepen their knowledge of relevant international standards and best practices in comparative experiences, and were able to explore requirements for establishing and making such instruments successful, and also acquired specialized skills that would enhance their capabilities to support efforts made on these two instruments in their countries in accordance with the provisions of the “UN Convention Anti-Corruption (UNCAC).
The training was attended by 36 trainees, including representatives of anti-corruption agencies from several Arab countries and other stakeholders from the public sector and civil society, in addition to specialized experts from the region, partner countries and sister organizations.
