Organized by: UN Global Compact Lebanon in cooperation with UNDP-ACIAC
The Global Compact Network Lebanon (GCNL) identified the anti-corruption as a priority for its work, an increasingly more prominent part of the government commitment, nationally and internationally including under the UN convention against corruption (UNCAC) and under the SDG agenda, particularly SDG 16. For this purpose, it cooperated with UNDP-ACIAC to organize a roundtable at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and informed its members of the latest developments in the fight against corruption in Lebanon, and explored the ways in which the Network and the concerned parties can cooperate in the development of the national anti-corruption strategy and its implementation plan to enable a more effective participation of the private sector in related efforts. The discussion was opened by a keynote from Minister Inaya Ezzeddine, Minister of State for Administrative Reform and it was followed by an open discussion with Judge Mohamad Mortada, representative of the Supreme Judicial Council and Mr. Neaman Abi Antoun, representative of the Minister of State for anti-corruption affairs and moderated by Arkan El Seblani, Chief Technical Advisor and Manager of ACIAC.
