Organized by: The Ministry in charge of relations with constitutional authorities, civil society and human rights with the support of UNDP and in cooperation with the “Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network”

The Ministry in charge of relations with constitutional authorities, civil society and human rights in the Republic of Tunisia organized an expert meeting on 23-24 May 2016 in Tunis on "the proposed bill for the good governance and anti-corruption authority basic law" with the support of UNDP and in cooperation with the “Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network”. The event was a continuation of the support UNDP has been providing to Tunisia since 2014 in order to strengthen its anti-corruption legislative framework in line with the United Nations Convention against Corruption and related national needs. More specifically, the meeting enabled a recently established team to develop a draft basic law for the good governance and anti-corruption authority pursuant to Chapter 130 of the new Constitution. The event also enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of related international standards and good practices and lessons learned from comparative experiences in the region and the world, and to conduct an in-depth review of the draft law accordingly. Participants included the team members as well as Tunisian, Arab and international experts.
