Seminar on “Protecting Whistleblowers in Lebanon”

Jointly with the “Lebanese Transparency Association” (LTA) and the “Lebanese Parliamentarians against Corruption”, UNDP-ACIAC organized a seminar on “Protecting Whistleblowers in Lebanon” in Beirut on 26 March 2015. The event came in the framework of national efforts to support the adoption of effective whistleblower protection in Lebanon and drew on similar efforts across the Arab region and other countries. It provided participants with a comprehensive update on anti-corruption legislative efforts with a focus on the whistleblower protection bill, while enabling them to revise and fine-tune a guide that was developed to raise public awareness and engage citizens in whistleblowing against corruption. Participants included parliamentarians and key national stakeholders who were involved in the drafting of the related bill and the guide.
