High level mission preparing for the transfer of the ACINET chairmanship

Organized by: ACINET in cooperation with UNDP-ACIAC and the Ministry of Justice in the Republic of Lebanon

In preparation for the transfer of the chairmanship of the "Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network”, currently chaired by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lebanon, to the Republic of Tunisia represented by the Minister of State in charge of Governance and Public Function, a Tunisian delegation headed by His Excellency the Minister of State, and including high-level officials, visited Beirut between 31 August and 4 September 2014. The visit included meetings with concerned Ministers in the Republic of Lebanon, in addition to members of parliament working on this issue, and heads of regulatory bodies, and will include focused working sessions with the Ministry of Justice’s team and the Network’s regional support unit. The visit aimed at: (1) discussing the Network's progress under Lebanese chairmanship in 2013 and 2014 and developing potential priorities for the coming period under the presidency of Tunisia, (2) launching preparations for the Network’s Conference, which is expected to be held at ministerial level in Tunisia before the end of this year, and (3) exchanging experiences and expertise related to anti-corruption and the promotion of integrity between officials of the two countries.
